Biography

Bilial Adilov is a religious figure, a local imam. During the first arrests on the peninsula, he was one of those who attended court hearings and traveled to Rostov-on-Don, Russia, where some of them were held.

On March 27, 2019, Russian security forces searched the homes of Crimean Tatar activists in the annexed Crimea. 23 people were detained that day - all of them were later arrested. Among them was imam Bilial Adilov, who was charged under Art. 205.5, part 2 of the RF Criminal Code - "participation in the activities of a terrorist organization."

On May 12, 2022, the Southern District Military Court of russian Rostov-on-Don convicted Crimean political prisoner Bilial Adilov, sentencing him to 14 years in prison with the first 5 years in prison and restriction of liberty for 18 months.
