At the beginning of May, Crimean Muslim and master of sports in taekwondo Uzeir Abdullaiev was taken out from SHIZO of IK №15 in the city of Salavat where he spent 10 days. In total, the political prisoner spent more than 50 days in a punishment cell.

“On April 19, Uzeir was placed in SHIZO for 10 days for a violation of order – allegedly, he had covered his bed with a towel. We all understand that this is pressure on Muslims, and a towel is not a curtain, the detainees all dry their towels like this,” his mother Diliara Abdullaieva wrote on her Facebook page.

The political prisoner’s mother said that she had sent several complaints to various authorities, asking for an urgent medical examination of Uzeir and immediate medical assistance. After 10 days of SHIZO, Uzeir called his wife and told that a doctor had visited him.“The doctor said that he was afraid for Uzeir’s health, so SHIZO was contraindicated for him and he was taken out on his recommendation,” said his wife, Fera. Earlier, Uzeir said that he had undergone an ECG and the doctor of IK No. 16 diagnosed him with an acquired heart defect. In addition, he suffered from allergic rhinitis.
