In September our non-governmental organization "Association of Relatives of Political Prisoners of the Kremlin" started work on an important area with the support of the International Renaissance Fund: we are creating an algorithm for quickly obtaining the status of illegally imprisoned for Ukrainian civilians who were imprisoned by the occupiers.

This project is aimed at solving the problem of illegally imprisoned civilians through in-depth monitoring and legal analysis of the mechanism of proving the fact of being in illegal imprisonment, developing an algorithm for proving the fact of captivity of a person who has released himself and does not have documents confirming imprisonment, as well as development of proposals for changes in legislation and their advocacy.

The goal of the project is to improve the quality and effectiveness of the mechanism for proving the fact of being in illegal captivity for Ukrainian civilians deprived of personal freedom as a result of Russian aggression, through monitoring and legal analysis of aspects of the realization of their rights, developing an algorithm for proving the fact of deprivation of personal freedom within the framework of current legislation, developing proposals for changes in legislation and their advocacy.
