The prisoner’s lawyer informed the Association about this.
A fictional spy Konstiantyn Davydenko is being held in IK No. 23 in Saratov region. He openly expresses his attitude to the war unleashed by Russia, and also communicates on these topics with other prisoners. For this, the deputy for educational work placed the Ukrainian in SHIZO for a month, despite the fact that the maximum period of detention in a punishment cell is 15 days.
Fortunately, many prisoners in this colony – mainly from the Caucasus and Central Asia – have pro-Ukrainian views and understand that Konstiantyn is locked up today for criticizing the regime, and later, they may be persecuted. They succeeded in getting Davydenko released from SHIZO as one of the conditions for stable production at the sewing shop where Konsitantyn and other prisoners work on a regular basis.
In addition, it is reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the funding for IK No. 23 has decreased, which has led to the deterioration of the prisoners’ food and lack of repairs – the roof in the colony has been leaking for a year. Like many other colonies, Saratov colony is also visited by recruiters taking several hundred people to the war with Ukraine every month.
The lawyer reports that Davydenko’s health condition has remained unchanged: the prisoner suffers from constant headaches, bad teeth and high blood pressure. Kostia is holding on and wants to go home very much hoping for an exchange.
As a reminder, Kostiantyn Davydenko was detained in Simferopol on February 11, 2018. According to the FSB, he allegedly passed state secrets from the occupied territory to the special services of Ukraine. On February 13, a video was published in which Konstiantyn stated that he had arrived in Crimea on the instructions of the SSU. The video shows that his front teeth were knocked out, so we can conclude that Davydenko was tortured. In June 2019, Davydenko was sentenced to 10,5 years, and in October the court reduced the sentence to 7 years in prison. During the same period, he was included in the prisoner exchange list, but he never returned home.
