Medzhyt Abdurakhmanov was born on February 2, 1975, in the village of Novaia Zhyzn, Nizhnichirchik District, UZSSR.
In 1982, he went to the 1st class of school No. 6 in the Serheli district of Tashkent. After completing 9 classes, he entered a vocational school to obtain the specialty of gas and electric welder.
After graduation, he did not work in his specialty for a long time. He worked as a printer in a printing shop at the Textile Plant in Tashkent. Later, he worked in a wood processing shop as a 3rd category joiner and machine-tool operator.
On July 15, 1995, he got married, has three children, two of them are minors.
In 2007, he moved with his family to Crimea for permanent residence. Before his arrest, he lived in the village of Strohanivka, Simferopol district. He worked at a construction site, installing windows and doors.
He is an activist of the “Crimean Solidarity”. He regularly attended courts, searches, and went on a single picket, for which he received a fine of 10 000 rubles and 5 days in SIZO.
Medzhyt Abdurakhmanov has chronic diseases: gastric and duodenal ulcers, permanent displacement of vertebral discs, back pains. In SIZO, he began to suffer from frequent headaches, and his teeth started to decay.
Medzhyt was arrested on unfounded charges on March 27, 2019. On that day, in the Kamianka and Strohanivka neighborhoods of Simferopol, the most massive raids in Crimea took place in the homes of Muslim Crimean Tatars, followed by detentions.
On May 12, 2022, in the Southern District Military Court, a panel of judges announced the sentence to Medzhyt Abdurakhmanov: 12 years in a strict regime colony, including the first 5 years in prison.
