Raim Aivazov was born on January 30, 1994 in Simferopol, Crimea.
In 2000, he went to the 1st class of secondary school №42 in Simferopol. He graduated from nine classes. In 2010, he entered the Simferopol Vocational Construction Lyceum to study carpentry, and a year later he received his diploma. He did not work by specialty.
In December 2017, together with a friend, he started working as a money transporter. He also performed electrical and sanitary engineering work.
On April 1, 2017, he got married and has 2 minor daughters. The second daughter was born after Raim's arrest.
Before his arrest, he attended court hearings of politically motivated cases in Crimea. He also helped in preparing and sending parcels to political prisoners to his fellow countrymen in SIZO.
On the night of April 16-17, 2019, Raim Aivazov was detained while crossing the russian border at Kalanchak checkpoint. There was no contact with him for more than 12 hours. In the afternoon, Raim contacted his sister and informed her that he was on Franko Boulevard and detained by the FSS.
On April 18, 2019, the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol chose for Raim Aivazov a preventive measure in the form of detention. At the trial, Raim's lawyer, Mariia Eismont, claimed that her client had been tortured.
On March 10, 2022, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Raim to 17 years in prison.
